The monarchy of the Kingdom of Portugal, commonly referred to as the Portuguese monarchy, was the constitutional from which a hereditary sovereign reigns as the head of state of the Kingdom of Portugal and the Algarves. The first and last monarch was King Dom Gabriel I.
