The Northern Ireland Office (NIO) was a department of the Government responsible for supporting the union and relationship between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom with the direction of Cabinet. The NIO was led by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
It was abolished in September of 2023, following the enactment of the Northern Ireland Centralisation Act 2023.
