CallumCathcart, Baron Cathcart of Westside, OBE CMG PC is a prominent British politician, serviceman, and businessman who formerly served as the Governor of Gibraltar. He has also held various notable positions in the government, private sector, and military throughout his career. Currently being the Chairman and majority shareholder of Less Holdings, a holding group which manages companies like ITV news, Go-Ahead London and Less Cookies.

Career in the United Kingdom

Callum Cathcart first joined the Rifles Regiment as a Private. During his time in the Rifles Regiment, he was selected to be a part of one of the best battalions 1Rifles. Cathcart has also previously served in the Royal Navy as an Able Rate along with the Royal Marines. He also served with the Metropolitan Police Service's Met Operations 19 and volunteered with the London Ambulance Service as part of their Volunteer Response Group. Additionally, he worked as a Leading Firefighter with the London Fire Brigade.

Cathcart received numerous commendations for his service, including the Long Faithful Service Medal.

Political and Business Career

Cathcart also pursued a career in politics and business. He held various senior positions in both sectors, including serving as the Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Foreign Secretary, as well Chief Minister of Gibraltar (serving 2 terms). In the private sector, he has held prominent roles such as Chairman of Less Holdings, and has 60% active shares. Less Holdings currently hold shares in: Go-Ahead London, and Less Cookies, as well BT Media, ITV News, and London Now. Callum also works in the National Wire Service as a Regional Executive. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer for Roadside Cargo Solutions and the Area Manager for the Royal Automobile Club.

Media

Callum built up his media reputation by first being employed in Westbridge Today, a local news company owned by Randthepanda, there he learnt the basics of being a media reporter. Cathcart then applied for the position of recording and streaming videos for ITV News, at that time owned by Nathless. This was when Cathcart slowly built up his media reputation and slowly moved on to General News reporting. However, following a change of ownership Callum left the company. At this time Callum took part in a career in Sky News and then later on OFCOM where he was Chairman for 2 months. Cathcart then joined Nathless in returning to the company and helped it return to its previous state with daily shows and articles. However, as time moved on Callum then took over ITV News from former owner Nathless and later took majority shares of Less Holdings.

Politics

Callum has been a prominent politician across the globe, serving in Gibraltar, the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth Countries. First making his debut in the Cayman Islands under the "Callox Party" which quickly rebranded into the Cayman Democratic Party.

Gibraltar

Callum was invited to form a Government in Gibraltar to serve as interim Chief Minister and then won an election as Leader of the Gibraltar Labour Party and served for one term coming to around 173 days in office. He then became Chief Secretary to the Government in Gibraltar supporting civil servants and aiding the Government. Then in April 2023, Cathcart was appointed as the Governor of Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located on the southern coast of Spain. In this role, he is responsible for representing the British Crown, overseeing the territory's governance, and serving as its chief diplomat.

United Kingdom

Callum started his career in the United Kingdom by becoming a Liberal Democrat MP for Cornwall under AndreHodge. There he learnt the basics of politics and understood the playing field. After leaving the Liberal Democrats Cathcart then joined the Labour Party under DeanRHeathcote as a backbencher for two terms being the Member of Parliament for Leicestershire and Brighton. Following the collapse of the Labour Government and with ShiforRBLX forming an interim Government Callum decided to leave the Labour Party for the good. After the interim Government, Cathcart made a return to politics bringing his experience in business and politics to the table as Chief Secretary to the Conservative Party who won the General Election. Following a successful term in Government Cathcart then was proposed Foreign Secretary for the Conservative Party under BenjaminHenley in which they won the General Election. However following mass resignation within the Government and the Prime Minister resigning, Cathcart left politics for the good and joined the House of Lords where he is now Lord Cathcart of Westside.

Callum has been honoured with several awards and distinctions throughout his career, including being appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George, a Member of the Order of the British Empire and also the Long Faithful Service Medal.
