Fenston started his political career as the Member of Parliament for Bootle for the Labour Party on September 15th 2019 during the 48th government. After his short tenure at the Labour Party lasting around 2 weeks, he left the Labour Party and joined the High Tories. With his new constituency being the Member of Parliament for Slough, Fenston became the Chief Whip for the High Tory Party in the 49th government. While at the High Tory party, he contributed heavily towards campaigning for the party.

He explored several different career opportunities within the Greater Manchester Police and was successful in joining the Tactical Firearms Unit shortly after becoming a qualified police constable. His career roles in the Greater Manchester Police mainly consisted of specialist firearms roles like the Counter-Terrorism Specialist Firearms Unit and the Principal Protection Unit. After excelling in the specialist firearms unit, he resigned from the Greater Manchester Police on December 13th 2019 to pursue his political career.
