The Monty Committee, formally known as the Unionist Private Members' Committee, and previously known as the 1922 Committee before the UK-wide party rebrand, is the parliamentary group of the Conservative Party in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The committee, consisting of all Unionist backbench members of Parliament, meets at the discretion of the Chairman and provides a way for backbenchers to co-ordinate and discuss their views independently of frontbenchers. The committee can also play an important role in choosing the party leader.
