Harrison's tenure as Chief of Naval Staff was marked by remarkable achievements and effective leadership within the Naval Service. His tenure led to his appointment to the position of Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding DavidMountbatten. This was widely expected due to his exceptional track record and contributions to the Royal Navy.

Home Office Career

He served as the Home Secretary, Minister of State for Security, and Minister of State for Intelligence.
