The Home Office is a department of the Government responsible for ensuring the execution of domestic security policy through the emergency services and other agencies while working with civil servants and Cabinet.


The Home Office is headed by the Secretary of State for Home Department, a Cabinet minister supported by the department's senior civil servant, the Permanent Secretary to the Home Office.
