EdwardCathcart is a British Senior Civil Servant, Barrister, Businessman and former politician who currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations. He has previously served as Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for West Mercia.

British Politics
EdwardCathcart first joined Parliament as the Conservative MP for West Mercia after Benjaminhenley's victory in the March 2023 General Election serving as MP for West Mercia from the 11th of March to the 13th of May 2023.
During his tenure as an MP, Edward also served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to both former Home Secretaries, UK_ThinBlueLine and VictorDClaudinho from around the beginning of the 72nd term until the 22nd of April 2023. On the 14th of April 2023, Edward was elected by Conservative backbenchers to serve as the Chairman of the 1922 Committee following the resignation of the former Chairman, Marcus_Stuyvestant.
On the 22nd of April 2023, Edward was chosen by Prime Minister TheBritishUnion to serve as Minister of State for Emergency Services. Edward officially resigned from politics on the 7th of May 2023 in order to pursue a career in the Metropolitan Police.
Northern Ireland
EdwardCathcart formerly served as Chairman of the Northern Irish Conservative Party from the 10th of April to the 5th of May 2023. Edward also served as the Northern Irish Minister of State for Borders and Policing under both CH3RRYLICI0US' Ministry and ScriptedSid's Ministry.
EdwardCathcart served as Member of the Legislative Assembly for Londonderry from the 18th of March 2023 to the 3rd of May 2023.
Civil Service
Following his resignation from politics, Edward pursued a career in the Civil Service and joined the National Archives before it was reintroduced as a Non-Ministerial Department. On the 24th of May 2023, the National Archives was reinstated as a Non-Ministerial department under Edward's leadership as Chief Executive Officer and Keeper of the Records, subsequently making him a Senior Civil Servant within His Majesty's Civil Service.
On the 9th of June 2023, Edward was announced as the newest Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.
International Career
Gibraltar
On the 14th of July 2023, Edward was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Gibraltar Parliament during the first session of the fifth term. Following the end of the fifth Parliamentary Term in Gibraltar, Edward assumed the position of Clerk to the Parliament of Gibraltar. Edward has also served in the Governor of Gibraltar's Private Office as one of two Assistant Private Secretaries to Governor CallumCathcart & Governor Krazee02
Other Information
Archivist
Edward is a passionate Archivist who pushed strongly for the reintroduction of the National Archives and other Archiving institutions. Alongside his leadership position in the National Archives he is also an Independent Trustee and supporter of the National Portrait Gallery and a Junior Archivist in the Royal Archives based at Windsor Castle. Within the National Archives, Edward introduced the National Picture Archive and the National Document Archive which both serve to store and safeguard parts of the UK's history.
